Perception
Most all of us have heard one time or another the saying "Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder." This is very true. Our attitudes are a reflection of our perceptions. How I see the world is how I will behave and believe. If I get out of bed in the morning and believe the day will be a good day, then I will feel great about life and enjoy. When something comes along during and tries to rattle my good mood I can either hold on to the belief that the day is still good or I can give in and be a grump. Life really isn't as bad as it appears right? There are people out there, especially this time of year that have it really tough. If you have a place to lay your head, clothes to cover your body, a little food to keep you warm and a friend or two, consider yourself more than blessed. I have had the opportunity lately to become discouraged. To look at the situations in my life beyond my control and become angry. It's all in how we think. Believe the best in people. Hope the situation you are in will cause a greater good for you or for someone else. I used to laugh at people who said just stay positive, don't focus on the bad things until the realization came that they are right. If I can keep my head up, look at whats around me and find the beauty, the pain of the ugly will melt away.
